The story begins in 2001, when work brought Caroline and me to the Pontiac region. At that time, I was a timber cruiser, wildlife technician, and forest products processing technician, and Caroline was a preschool-primary teacher. We had a unique opportunity to buy a beautiful 200-acre estate in the municipality of Otter Lake — a perfect place to start a new life.
Gradually, the idea of starting a tourism business took root in our minds. And why not a dog sledding business? Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by this sport, and it would be a beautiful way to honor the person who passed on his passion to me: my late uncle François Bruneau, an athlete since 1985. I was lucky enough to care for one of his dogs, Mouki, to start my activity in 2004.
Escapade Huskimo was born.
Today, our kennel includes 49 dogs — mostly descendants of Mouki’s line — we have bought several properties and a log cabin, hired employees, and diversified our activities to welcome you all year round.
With Caroline, we always have more ideas and projects to offer you a unique experience at Domaine Vallée Desrosiers. Even though we have kept our respective professional activities and have a lot of work, we are passionate about what we do. And we have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
The Vallée Desrosiers estate, with its 1,300 acres, now offers many activities and services. It’s up to you to discover them by visiting our website!
